    TARTAN Display Technology

    TARTAN is a proprietary technology developed by AUO Display Plus to supply customized displays in a variety of sizes and aspect ratios for different applications. Unlike conventional rectangular displays that are cut from 16:9 LCD panels, TARTAN uses a unique photo mask with rigorous LCD manufacturing standards and processes to ensure high quality and stability. The exclusive photo mask design allows a single substrate to be utilized in multiple sizes. Customized sizes and aspect ratios can be supplied in addition to standard rectangular, square and circular product types. Industrial-grade specifications such as high brightness, high quality, wide operating temperature and high stability satisfy the requirements for extended use in demanding environments.

    Outdoor environments expose displays to truly high or low temperatures. Due to the photo leakage current characteristic of TFT device, the luminance from backlight increases the leakage current. This results in the increased chance of crosstalk and the picture blurring. The design and production process for our high brightness displays help to mitigate photo leakage current impact. The materials and dedicated backlight components used for high brightness requirements prevent screen blackening under sunlight while ensuring product reliability and long service life. The low-reflection design greatly increases screen view ability so that the picture is crystal-clear under any operating condition.

    In curved LCD panels, a smaller curvature means greater stress in the glass. The amount of stress in each area will also vary as well. The stress force exerted by curvature can interfere with the alignment of the liquid crystal leading to uneven brightness in the screen. The Advanced MVA (AMVA) technology used by AUO Display Plus are less sensitive to the effects of curvature stress on picture quality compared to IPS panels. The LCD panel can therefore be curved without impacting on its original picture quality. Thinning before cutting reduces the liquid crystal stress from the glass. It also ensures consistent panel thickness and improves product reliability. The type of curved surface, the curvature or partial transparency can all be customized upon customer request to deliver the visual appearance needed for gaming machines.

Their normal operation under demanding conditions is essential to ensuring the safety of personnel. AUO Display Plus’ ruggedized panels scan withstand high and low temperatures, low pressure and dusty environments. They are designed to continue working in all kinds of outdoor weather and special work sites. High-strength panels that have passed drop, shock and pressure testing are also available from AUO Display Plus for aerospace, maritime and mechanical applications.

    Advanced display technologies such as high definition, wide color gamut (WCG), mini LED backlight for high contrast, low-blue light for eye comfort, and ultra narrow bezel design are introduced by AUO Display Plus to satisfy the exacting requirements of different medical applications. High-end diagnostic medical displays emphasize the continuity of grayscale images and the elimination of mura (light leakage) in dark environments to help physicians make a more accurate diagnosis. WCG optimizes the gamut, contrast, backlight zones and algorithms for the color red. The richer presentation of layers and tones for tissue and blood provide the most realistic colors and details. The optimization of TFT pixels, optical materials, driver IC and LED backlight modules results in a medical display that delivers more precise image quality and a longer service life.

    TFT X-ray Sensor

    X-ray imaging sensor array pixels are made up of TFTs and photodiodes. The unique photonic conversion technology of AUO Display Plus’ X-ray sensor features an optimized architecture that can detect and output large, clear grayscale images with low noise. Applications include medical X-ray imaging, luggage inspection and security scanners. Product weight is greatly reduced through the use of flexible X-ray sensor technology. Its unbreakable attribute makes it suitable for use in portable X-ray devices.

  • TFT Fingerprint Sensor

    TFT Fingerprint Sensor

    Conventional displays use TFT diodes to control the liquid crystal, the photonic conversion properties of a-Si are used here to absorb light sources in multiple wavelengths. The sensor IC can then read the differences in photo leakage between the sensor array components and convert them into a digital grayscale image. AUO Display Plus can supply fingerprint scanner panels of different sizes with high resolution (500~1000 PPI). These support multi-fingerprint image capture, and high-resolution image recognition that can distinguish even children’s more delicate fingerprints. Scanning accuracy is not impaired outdoors under strong lighting. The product’s lightweight, thinness and portability satisfy the requirements of different applications.
